Have Questions? Of Course You Do. Here’s A Quick Q & A.

Engagements Q&A

  • What will our engagement session be like?

The engagement session will take approximately 2 hours, unless additional time was negotiated as part of the contract. If you would like a second location, we can include that in your package options, and there is no additional fee as long as the locations are just a short distance apart. To help everything go as smoothly as possible it is best to arrive ten minutes before your start time. This will help ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
  • Where are you located?

We are based in Washington D.C. and often work in the Maryland and Northern Virginia Area.
  • Do you travel outside of Washington DC?

Certainly! We frequently work in Maryland and Northern Virginia area and are willing to travel greater distances. Once we know the location you have in mind we will incorporate a travel fee for anything involving driving over 60 miles, and include the estimated additional cost in your package options. You can expect that our rates are very reasonable.
  • When are you open?

Our office hours are Monday to Friday 10:30am to 6:00pm, If you contact us and we don’t reply that day we are likely out with another client, and will get back to you as soon as possible.  We schedule all portrait sessions for weekends.
  • How long will the engagement session take?

We want to make the session go as smoothly as possible so it is best to arrive ten minutes before your start time. This will help ensure you have a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
  • Where can we have our portraits done?

The best pictures happen in places that are meaningful to you. Locations can include: a first date spot, favorite park, the beach, your home, and of course we can also help come up with ideas. Sometimes it is fun to utilize multiple locations, and we are more than happy to accommodate.
  • What if the weather is bad?

Don’t worry. We know how to make the best of bad weather by using props like umbrellas and rain boots and we will always make sure we have a back up location. We understand some weather conditions are truly unsafe. In that case we will work with you to reschedule your session.

Weddings Q&A

  • What will my photographer be like on the day?

Our goal is to make you feel comfortable; to remain unnoticed as we capture sentimental moments, while also being friendly, respectful, and vocal as we position people for some group pictures before fading into the background so the focus returns to you.  We want our energy and presence to enhance your celebration.
  • Do you travel outside of Washington DC?

Certainly! We frequently work in Maryland and the Northern Virginia area and are willing to travel greater distances. Once we know the location you have in mind we will incorporate a travel fee for anything involving driving over 60 miles, and include the estimated additional cost in your package options. • Will I meet my photographer before the wedding day?

Yes, we will plan a time to meet with you after you have the chance to review your package options. In addition to answering any remaining questions that you may have, meeting in person is an important step as you make a decision about the people who will be with you during one of the most meaningful days of your life.
  • What about a first look?

Whether or not you have one is up to you, but we encourage couples to consider it if possible. We believe it can be an especially romantic and meaningful time for the bride and groom to have a private moment without the pressure of being watched by all your guests. If you prefer not to see each other, but would like to exchange a last message before becoming husband and wife, we can help you come up with a creative way to make that happen.

  • What if the weather is bad?

No need to worry, we will still make it work. Everyone is there to celebrate you, we are certain that the weather will not get in the way of making wonderful memories and beautiful photographs!  If you are planning an outdoor wedding, please let us know if you have any bad weather backup plans which would alter the location.
  • How long will you stay?

We can stay as long as you would like to ensure that we capture all the significant moments. In general, most weddings packages range from 8 to 12 hours, but each wedding is unique. When we finalize our contract you will decide the amount of time that is best for you.

After the wedding we work hard to select the best images and make sure that they reflect the beauty of your celebration. While a month may seem like a long time, retouching is not a fast process, and we use this time to create and deliver a high quality product that you will always treasure. As we do with all of our clients, we will post a sneak-peak on our blog. Then once they are all ready we will send you a link to view and share your private gallery with family and friends. You will also be able to order prints directly from the gallery.
