Shenandoah Mountain Wedding in Luray, VA – Meara & Marion

We had such a blast capturing all the special moments of Meara and Marion’s wedding day. These two were amazing and made sure all of their friends and family had a fabulous time!

The Most Joyful Moment

According to Marion: It was wonderful to see my family from Mexico and all families from both sides come together to have a good time. Of course, I’d also say standing at the altar was pretty amazing. Being there with Meara and her uncle Craig (our officiant) was a memory I’ll cherish for a long time. And seeing Meara’s father walking her down the aisle was a very happy moment for me.

Meara had trouble picking just one ๐Ÿ™‚

I can think of a few! Definitely when I first woke up and it hit me that it was the big day! I had an adrenaline rush and teared up because I felt so lucky and grateful to be marrying the most caring, fun, and hardworking man. All my bridesmaids arrived all excited and we stood in a circle toasting with our mimosas, and I just felt so happy! The second was when I was alone with Marion after the ceremony and we got to really take in what just happened and talk just the two of us…and eat the food…we are both big eaters and were so hungry haha! It was such a peaceful, wonderful feeling to just be hanging out for a moment away from the big crowd. And lastly, dancing with my new hubby and all our friends to my current favorite song, Despacito, as our last song of the night!

Their First Look

As Marion said,ย “I was a littleย nervousย to be honest. Once we were back to back and said hello, that helped me calm down.”

Meara remembers, “I was like ‘I just want to see his face!’ He wrote the sweetest note and I just wanted to give him a hug and kiss. I had nerves feeling like we were a bit rushed getting to the Farm and had tried

to relax but it was hard because it was almost involuntary…then they completely went away as soon as I saw him!”

Married Life

ย Marion’s impression: “It’s great! Love it!”

According to Meara, it’s “Amazing! We were quite tired the first few days because we were tubing and exploring Luray with family and then hosted more family at our house (we were on an air mattress and shared a room with lots of family members haha!) but it was SO fun to be with all of them and continue the celebration! On our first night alone together we got Chinese food for dinner. That’s where Marion started saying “this is our first time doing — as husband and wife” for everything. He said “this is our first time getting Chinese food as husband and wife” and now every day it’s something new, even if it’s a silly mundane thing, he’ll excitedly say “this is our first time doing dishes together as a married couple!”/”this is our first time driving in the car together as a married couple!” or whatever it may be. I can’t wait to have lots of those fun memories and firsts for the rest of our lives! We hope to honeymoon around the holidays in December…we cannot wait!”
