Toolbox Pilates Art Studio Wedding DC – Jenny & Matt

The Sound of Music and Legos, they’re not usually the first things that come to mind when you hear the word “wedding” but for this adorable couple, they were only two of the many special details sprinkled throughout the day that personalized every moment.

First, Jenny wore her mom’s dress which had both of their wedding dates stitched on the inside in blue, such a special detail! The tailored and updated dress was completely stunning! And Matt paid tribute the South, where they met in college, by rocking some awesome socks ๐Ÿ™‚

Day Full of Joy

Jenny: It is difficult to pinpoint when I felt the most joyful on my wedding day because there were so many wonderful moments. I really enjoyed our first dance as a married couple. In that moment, it felt like there was nobody else in the room.ย  Then right after our first dance, our families joined us on the dance floor and it was fun to see everyone let loose to celebrate us.

Matt: Itโ€™s tough to pick just one, but I can think of two moments that really stand out for me. The first was when Jenny turned the corner to come down the aisle. She looked absolutely gorgeous and that was the happiest I can ever remember seeing her. The photos probably tell that story better than I can! I also really enjoyed when we got to sit down for dinner. That was the first time we had a minute to ourselves and it was wonderful to sit with my wife and look at all the family that we had there to celebrate our wedding.

Seeing Each Other for the First Time

Jenny: Before walking down the aisle, I was very nervous; I do not particularly like being in front of people. But I was also extremely excited. The reason we forwent the popular trend for the bride and groom to see each other before the wedding was to have that special moment during the ceremony. I could not wait to turn the corner and see Mattโ€™s face. I teased him before the wedding and told him he had to cry, although I fully expected him to not cry but smile instead. Then to my surprise, he broke down in tears the moment he saw me. I will never forget that moment and the way he looked.

Matt: I was so excited to see Jenny but I wanted to see everyone else, the ring bearers and flower girls come down the aisle. I had been keeping my head down because I wanted my first glimpse of Jenny to be when she was looking at me. I felt this crazy mix of joy, anxiety, and excitement in that moment that I really canโ€™t describe, but it was truly incredible.

Thoughts on Married Life

Married life has been unbelievable so far. We just returned from our honeymoon in Germany and Austria where we saw beautiful mountains, stayed in historic buildings, and ate our favorite food.ย  We spend the entire trip laughing and having fun with one another, which I think foreshadows how the rest of our life is going to be.

That sounds pretty perfect to us. Congratulations you two!
