UFC Gym proposal, Fairfax, VA – Eve & Ed

Ever since we heard that these two met in a boxing class, we couldn’t wait to get in the same gym to have their pictures tell their unique story.  The gym isn’t only where they met, it’s where they… But we’re getting ahead of ourselves, keep looking and you’ll see!

Hear about their first date from Ed’s perspective.

Eve and I’s first date was at Amoo’s Kabob in McLean.  It was on Sept. 7, 2013 and I decided to take her to my favorite kabob place where I normally go to pick up food after teaching my Boxing classes since it’s down the street from where I was staying at the time.  It is a very chill laid back spot, I thought it would be the perfect quiet spot to get to know Eve, at least that’s what I thought was going to happen.  When Sebastian and his brother Pejman (owners Amoos) saw me walk in with Eve, the first thing that came out of their mouths were….”oh WOW, you brought a girl with you tonight!!  You’re usually by yourself picking up food to go!!”  I was so embarrassed and they gave us the VIP treatment thru out the whole night.  They were treating me like their little brother and made a big scene like how older siblings would embarrass their younger brother that’s on a date….but with good intentions 🙂

As Eve said at the time it was happening, while she was laughing the whole time and I was so embarrassed, she said it reminded her of a scene from the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” because the owners treated us like we were family and were LOUD the whole time.  Sebastian was nice enough to walk to the grocery store across the street and bought us a bottle of wine because they were all out when we tried to order one.  I was embarrassed and sweating the whole time this was happening worried that Eve probably thought I was a player and asked the owners to say/do all these nice things about me and to make a scene to make me look good in front of her……..I just thought it was going to be a nice quiet dinner date….LOL  I remember ordering their dinner special that was a deep fried fish, Eve won my heart when she ate the WHOLE fish head with no hesitation 🙂

Eve’s impression of their first date

Our first date was at a small family owned restaurant called “Amoo’s” in Mclean. I had never been there before and Ed was a regular “to-go” customer but never dined in. As soon as we walked in, the owners greeted us with hugs and smiles like out of a movie! They were actually closing in 5 minutes but because it’s family owned and because it was Ed they told us to sit down and stay as long as we wanted. So there we were two strangers having a first date in an empty restaurant with all these people patting Ed on the back and exclaiming “Who is THIS YOUNG LADY!” Poor Ed is very shy and hates being the center of attention so he immediately turned bright red and broke out in a sweat. I thought the entire ordeal was hilarious and felt like I was in a living room with crazy relatives.

They treated us like royalty because they said how much they loved Ed and that he’s never brought a girl in or talked about a girl so they were very excited for him. They even went as far as to walk across the street to buy wine for us! They took care of the bill, gave us so much food, and spent the entire time telling me how great Ed was and how beautiful I was. One of the best parts of the night was when they served us a full fish (literally the full fish) and I ate the eyes and cheeks and Ed just stared at me in “awe”. I thought maybe I grossed him out but he later told me that that’s when he knew I was the girl for him hahahah. Till this day we joke about how I won his heart with fish eyes.

You guys are the best!  We can’t wait to share the second part of your engagement session soon!
