Walker’s Overlook Wedding – Dara & Jesse

โ€œWe like to think our story was an act of fate. There were so many things that had to fall in to place in order for us to meet. Jesse had just moved down to Maryland. I had just moved to an apartment less than a mile away from Jesseโ€™s place. I had also just had a career change, where my schedule was very flexible. Our story starts on the Greenway trail, which happened to sit directly between each of our apartments at the time.

Jesse had just been in Maryland for about 2-3 weeks and was exploring his new neighborhood with his dog, Duncan. I was out of work early, so me and my girlfriend planned a hike on the Greenway trail with our dogs. That day, we ran into Jesse and Duncan. After parting ways, my girlfriend told me how cute that guy was and challenged me to get his name the next time I ran into him. I couldnโ€™t tell you what Jesse looked like or what he was wearing. But for days after I was talking about this cool dog I met on the trail.

My dog, Miles and I would continue to go on that trail every day for a trail run. And my friend would continue to ask me if I had run in to โ€œHound Boyโ€ yet. Eventually, we ran into Jesse and Duncan again. My girlfriend was right, he was cute!

It was fun to rush home every day after work to get on the trail and see if we would run into each other again. Soon enough we were texting to meet up. It then turned in to a routine. We had a spot we would meet every day. At this point, we were still only meeting during the week at the same place. Finally, Jesse asked if I wanted to try a different trailโ€ฆon a weekend! In separate cars, we drove our dogs to Sugarloaf Mountain. On our way out after the hike we saw that Sugarloaf Winery was having a festival, so we decided to stop. We spent a few hours there and on our way out we decided we would go our separate ways, but have pizza later and watch a movie. The next day, Jesse texted me and asked if I wanted to join him at a bar to watch a hockey game. After about a month of running into one another for 40-minute walks, we decided to spend an entire weekend together and as they say, the rest is history!!โ€

Congratulations, Dara + Jesse!
